Dismantling

Buckler's offer in-depth expertise and five decades of experience in the selective dismantling of multi-storey buildings, factory complexes, road/rail bridges and residential houses.

The project illustrated on this page involved the deployment of a Sarens Heavy Lift Crane to remove a reinforced concrete footbridge and its supports, which were situated over fully operational main-line railway tracks.

Before work could commence, a temporary road had to be constructed to enable access to the bridge and to support the crane, which was 200 tonnes in weight.

Being overhead a main-line railway, access time was at a premium. The entire dismantling/lifting operation had to be started and completed within an eight hour overnight period whilst the Railway line was shut down.
